Capitalism is NOT the evil. Greed is. And all systems can have greed.
If you are angry at capitalism, your anger is displaced and it’s the reason we lose momentum in the battle against the true problem.
Greed
and this greed is only made possible by LACK of regulation. Communism can also be horrendous with greed (and is) and even as helpful as socialist policy may be, even that can be a problem when it includes Greed without regulation.
From 1900 to 2000 there were consistent increases in regulation in the United States.
The aim of this regulation was the following:
- improved working conditions
- safer consumer goods
- improved wages
- preventing monopolies to provide greater opportunity for smaller businesses to compete in the free enterprise market
All of the above are no different that Rules in athletics or board games.
The rules are designed to guide the interactions and prevent abuse.
So if you really want to change this world, aim at the Greed by Demanding that we do not lose existing regulations and… that we continue to improved and fund our methods of regulation — such as the FDA, FTC, and the USDA.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
I joke but I am serious.
Stop bashing Capitalism. It’s like blaming your cousin for the BullSh*t that your brother is doing. Wrong person and your brother is still pulling your hair.
