Ever since I can remember, I have often been disappointed by others in public, staring at someone whose body is differently abled, making jokes about the way someone else was dressed, or some other attempt to assert heirarchy into a situation.

It is my greatest hope for our world, that more people strip away the shackles of judgement for things such as clothing or hairstyle and recognize that -- how we choose to adorn our physical form is our own personal choice.

And just like some enjoy Picasso and others prefer Rembrandt, it's all someone's expression of art. It holds no ability to measure or alter the worth of the artist. One person sees Picasso's art as cheap and perhaps only worth $10 while another would gladly spend $70,000 for the same image.

Regardless of what value we assign to the art, the ARTIST remains brilliant, beautiful, and just as worthy and deserving as everyone else.

Our clothing and hair are just the art we create on our form each day. And somedays the artist doesn't have the energy for more than sweats and a hoodie, but on another day, maybe she wears a fabulous red dress.
