I want to offer this brief comment though I wish I had time currently to fully explain my perspective.

It is my belief that what fuels this behavior is more that in most places, a man is perceived as not fully a man unless he has the attention and affections of a woman or multiple women.

He is taught from an early age that the man with a wife/girlfriend/mistresses/sidechicks etc is powerful, but the one who cannot get a woman's attention is not fully a man.

In weaker minded males, this can lead to jeers on the street all the way to rape and/or domestic violence and/or economic manipulation.

In other words, getting that attention and presence by any means necessary.

I might return to say more later, bu tin short:

Boys and men are taught that they are nothing if they cannot maintain the presence and attention of a woman.
