Let’s look at the whole situation.

#1 A white woman started the conversation about the rape allegations from his past.

So was Gayle doing a wrong or taking control of the narrative by bringing it up?

I was like a lot of you and said she had no reason to ask Lisa Leslie this question, but then I took a step back and saw what Gayle might have been doing. The Washington Post reporter, Felicia Somnez, was the one who first mentioned it and the conversation was going to happen one way or the other.

So when Gayle interviewed Lisa Leslie, it could be a way of taking control of that narrative. Think about it? Here are 2 black women very briefly discussing it and then saying, “Look the case was years ago and looking at the evidence, there’s no reason to bash his legacy with it. He was not a predator.”
