That Moment When Happiness Gets Uncomfortable

How is that possible you wanna know?

Simple.

Most of humanity is so accustomed to some level of discomfort that we have learned to prepare for disruption, to prepare for the unexpected.

In work, friendships, vacations even, and in dating.

I call it the perpetual sense of PTSD.

This is why I theorize a lot of us have sabotaged at least one good thing in our lives out of this very strange “Fear of Happiness.” How and why?

How? With some paranoia, acting suspicious with the others involved, and this leads to their distrust in us, as we now appear shady.

Why? Because we are so accustomed to disruption that we expect it and frankly, EGO. We don’t want to be caught off guard, so we imagine if we “catch it” before it happens, we won’t look like a fool to others.

Let’s be clear:

Ish does happen. That’s true. But when we live in preparation for it, we are devoting our energy to the bullshit, instead of the great things in our lives.
