In Beyonce’s hit song “Pretty Hurts,” she sings, “Perfect is a disease of a nation.” and yes, she’s damn right.

I can’t speak on behalf of any other nation, but I will speak about our own: the United States of America.

Each of the people pictured here has both achieved a lot and pissed off a good number of people with some of their choices. And in these cases, it’s often hard to separate the positive results from the negative results when we discuss the work of such a person.
