There are 1,000 Ways to Heal
Ok that’s an exaggeration but there are definitely more healing methods than you might realize.
Society leans onto a few specific methods:
Therapy
Spirituality
or choosing to drink or medicate the pain away. This final one doesn’t really heal anything, it just throws a blanket over the trauma or stress, but you already knew that.
But are there other things we can do to improve our mental and physical well-being?
Yes.
Nelson Mandela famously said, the most successful leader is the one that motivates people to action without the people realizing the leader was the motivator.
It is the same with healing in my opinion.
You do not need to come in Superhero style to help someone or yourself make progress. A lot of the mental weight people carry is connected to loss, trauma, struggle, or some combination of these things.
Here are some other options that you can use for yourself or if you are in position to help someone and they actually want the help, you could suggest.
